Also check out the accompanying video where you can see and hear the pedal in use as I demo it. Back in the day loopers used to be fiendishly complicated bits of kit with multiple buttons and sequences to go through to get them working. Thankfully, over time this process has been made far simpler and more user friendly. This particular model, for example, has just one knob for the level, an LED indicator, and a pedal. It also has a stereo in and out option, plus another out for an additional pedal if you wish to take your looping to the next level. Like the other Boss pedals you'll no doubt be familiar with, it's powered by a 9v battery or the standard Boss power supply, and as you would expect, it's built like a tank. One cool feature is that a recorded phrase is retained in the pedal's memory even after it's turned off, which is great news if you have just put down a perfect loop and there is a power cut, or the battery runs out. Well I didn’t need to break out the instruction manual, which is always a great sign. Start playing, press the pedal once and it will start recording, press it again to finish that loop and start an overdub, press it twice to stop. Simple! To start all over again, press and hold the pedal down for two seconds. The 24 segment LED loop indicator is laid out in a circular pattern, and traces around to show you where you are in the loop. Even by Boss's own admission this is a bit of a gimmick, but it’s also quite handy to see where you are in the loop, especially if it’s a long one, and it helps getting your next one in time. It may be because I have used various loopers in the past that I find it so easy to drive, but I'm quite sure a virgin looper would have no problems getting to grips with this one, quite quickly. The level knob is great for controlling how much you have coming through, and you only have to press the pedal lightly to get it working, it's very intuitive.http://www.life2.com.br/arquivos/28082020_boss-hr-2-harmonist-manual.xml My only gripe (and it's not confined to this looper) is that you have to press the pedal twice to get a loop to stop, which can be quite awkward; and why when you hold down to delete what you have done does it have to play the loop back at you until its cleared. Would it not be possible to have it offer a silent delete. Yes, you could turn the volume down but again it's something to think about. These are only small issues, and the pedal as it’s intended works great. It is also quite common that customers throw outTry Google Search! Live looping has quickly become a technique that has taken the art of live performance to a whole new level. Any musician, from bedroom producers to guitar gods, can add their own flair to their part, solo or track by using a Loop Station live on stage. Looping can even inspire a completely new song when used in the studio! But what is looping and how can you add it to your repertoire.https://www.gamastech.com/images/boss-loop-station-instruction-manual.pdfWhat you do next with this phrase is up to you. But don’t stop there. The real power of looping comes from “overdubbing”. This is the process of recording over the previously recorded phrase. It’s similar to the same way you would overdub vocals when recording a song. Adding overdubs gives depth to your phrase and takes your looping to the next level.Well, get out your instrument of choice and your Loop Station. Here is a step-by-step guide to get you looping! The OUTPUT then goes to your amp. Make sure you have power for your pedal (by BOSS PSA DC adaptor or 9V battery) and we are set to loop! Looping your first phrase is super easy. The flowchart below shows you how you can make your first phrase using the BOSS RC-1 in THREE easy steps. Click image to enlarge. First step is to think about WHAT you want to loop. Let’s start with one four-count bar of a G major chord. Strum a rhythm and count:Now this time around, you will start recording on bar two by pressing once to make a start point of the phrase and then once again for the end point. Recording will be marked when the red REC LED is lit. Let’s start. Strum the same rhythm again for bar one and count: 1, 2, 3, 4. When you get to the “1” of bar two, step once on the Loop Station. Count 2, 3, 4 and on the next “1”, step once on the pedal again and stop playing your guitar. You will now hear a phrase of your G major chord looping over and over. Congrats, you’ve made your first loop! Your phrase is now playing in overdub mode. Let’s move to Step 2 to expand our phrase! When you want to mark the end point, you actually have two options; you can keep recording or you can just hear your phrase played back. Let’s look at the flowchart once again.OVERDUB mode is engaged by pressing the footswitch ONCE to mark the end point and is indicated by both red and green LEDs being lit. This mode keeps on recording so anything you play “over the top” of the phrase will record. Let’s give that a try!http://training-solutions.ro/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/1626f163fdc54e---bosch-shu3036uc-service-manual.pdf Make a loop and engage OVERDUB mode. Start playing another version of the G major chord, then stop playing while leaving the Loop Station play. You can now hear both parts playing over each other. If you are finished overdubbing, press the footswitch ONCE again. You are now in PLAYBACK mode.Importantly, you can not record in PLAYBACK mode but you can play over the top. This is perfect for practising solos over your looped chords. You can see if you are in PLAYBACK mode if just the GREEN “Play” LED is on. You can go from RECORD mode straight to PLAYBACK by hitting the footswitch TWICE SLOWLY when marking the end point in Step 1.You can do this at any time in the looping process to stop your phrase from playing back and you are back to Step 1. Well done! You have just become a Looping Apprentice but you have only scratched the looping surface. It all comes down to your own creative voice and vision. Once you get into the finer points of looping, you will start to see the Loop Station as an instrument onto itself and it will inspire you to look at your own instrument a bit differently. You can also loop stereo instruments like synthesizers and have a ball playing along. We here at BOSS believe that it’s not too much for you to expect a stereo looper. With stereo inputs and outputs, you can record and playback your creations in stereo, the way music was intended to be played, performed, and enjoyed.https://www.taxiserviceh24.com/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/1626f165c22f15---bosch-shu3302uc-manual.pdfAnd, its compact size won’t take up much space on your pedal board. Hold down the “A” switch for two seconds or longer to erase the phrase. By pressing the “B” switch, you can easily undo or redo your phrase. You can also switch the indicator to an alternate mode, which visually tracks your loop. During overdubbing and playback, the speed at which the indicator rotates directly corresponds to the length of the loop. With its 12 minutes of stereo recording time, the RC-1 has the most stereo recording time in its class.Since the RC-20 loop station was first released in 2001, BOSS has LED the way by continually releasing new looping products. Deacon Blues 5.0 out of 5 stars It's so much easier to know the current status from the Loop indicator. It's large enough and not under my foot like it is with the Ditto. I also got the optional FS-5U to make dead-on loop stops and erasure with no playback. There's nothing more annoying than having the loop playback for a few seconds when all you're trying to do is erase it. I also like the feature where you can set the loop order because I rarely want to record overdubs. And personally, I like the fact that the Boss pedals can be pressed without the click sound.anxuetang.com/upload/files/canon-mp250-manuale-italiano.pdf People get distracted by the clicks. I don't want what I'm doing with my feet to be the focus. Sure, the Ditto works fine. But the RC1 has the little things that make a big difference and why I made the switch. It is great fun laying down a loop and playing over the top. The only downside to this is listening to and realizing how many mistakes I actually make:(.Solid construction, simple to operate (read the brief instructions), and precise in its performance. Not a lot of bells and whistles -- no drum tracks, memory only for the loop you are building. (If you are looking for more features, consider another Boss looper model.) Signal is very clean. First-rate pedal. Just what I expect from Boss.Playing along to backing tracks online is fun, but THIS lets me get infinitely more creative by making my OWN backing tracks. I've only been playing guitar for a few months and can already play some simple improvised solos. I owe much of that to this little box.I was using it during a sound meditation and it send out this painful sound. I quickly unplugged it and upon experimenting with it realized that something inside was broken. Now it no longer loops or anything. I am looking to Boss to repair it but it is two months past its 90 warranty. How can you double step on the beat???It can be a little confusing at first. It's default setting is - 1 tap to start recording, 1 tap to start over dubbing, 1 tap to end over dubbing, 2 taps to stop playback and 2 taps and hold to erase all. Basically you want to tap it to start recording right on the down-beat, and tap again right when you want it to loop. It can be a little tricky getting that perfectly timed recording looped at first. There are also different modes which are a little confusing- but if you look up a short youtube video on how to change the modes and what they do it'll be clear. They basically let you change the order of tap to record, tap to overdub, tap to end overdub to ---- tap to record, tap to end over dub, tap to start overdub (This is my prefered mode). This is NOT true. Double tap and hold will erase the entire recording. Very helpful feature.Change the settings if you don't like overdub automatically. I didn't but can be useful. I switched to overdub upon pedal press. Manual tells how to do itMy first impressions upon the purchase.Functionality is basic, but for anything more sophisticated there are bigger boxes which can do more. And for anywhere outside street busking, there are computers and programs that can do a lot more. The slightly more difficult part - smooth on-stage operation and performance -comes with practice and I haven't had the time for that yet. But in the first minutes of owning the RC-1 I was confidently recording loops and having fun jamming with myself, it's that simple. In addition to the included printed instructions, there are many online videos that show how to use it and provide great ideas of what can be done. I am perhaps satisfied because I didn't expect miracles, already knew exactly the capabilities of this unit, and the experience fully met my expectations. Any disappointed users I have come across simply had unrealistic expectations because they had not made the effort to research the product in advance. Yes, it's basic and limited - but within its limitations, the possibilities are nonetheless.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again Firstly, there was a battery already in the pedal so I was up and running straightaway. The instructions for use are clear and, after a couple of go's at synching my playing with my pressing of the pedal, I was away. It does exactly as it says. There is unlimited dubbing although you'll end up with a wall of sound with too many. My first real effort was 'Breathe' of Dark Side of the Moon. It was really easy to add the slide guitar over the chord sequence and it allowed you leeway to add a couple more for effect. I was impressed with the reproduction of the guitar and, with a bit of twiddling with the level, the balance can be made. I haven't added the bass guitar but I've no reason to believe that would present a problem. The only downside is the storage i.e. one loop can be stored. However, by running through my PC, I can record and then edit. The loop indicator dial is inspired and makes the whole process a lot more intuitive. Highly recommended for those new to the world of loop effects pedals.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again I did not buy the boss one but a British pedal maker called 'bright onions' they make a micro double switch pedal that does the job for ?24, excellent and really small, together they are formidable. I do also have a electro harmonix 4 track looper but it is very complicated, reverse sample, slow sample, but i never use the effects and this boss pedal has the same quality of sound.Being stereo is a bonus very good if you use two amps or a stereo set up obviously but equally as useful if you just want to run mono again this is obvious. The only negative to me is the big switch which is part of the Boss design hence buying the bright onions pedal was a no brainer as you get the normal button type switch which always feels more solid and immediate to me, that's just me though may be others will prefer the boss switch. There is the electro harmonix 720 which is approx ?118 compared to this at ?85, both are stereo and the EH does has a loop selector switch where you can load up 10 samples from a computer for example, and half speed but no use for me as mentioned earlier I needed a simple practice pedal to noodle over, and when live for an acoustic set both of these needs are done with this pedal.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again Positives: - Affordable - Solid construction - Perfect to practice scales or solos by using it to record your own chord progressions. - Portable, comes with a battery so you can use it without a power supply. Some negatives: - It will take some getting used to the controls - Having just one button means you'll need to tap dance to make it do the things you need. - It's a bit annoying you have to buy the power supply seperate. - Not the best if you want to use it for live performances.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again The only other criticism I have is concerning the instructions which come on large sheet of fold-out paper in various languages I think this would be much better as a thin booklet with larger diagrams.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again Bought all new leads and a new amp as well.I ended up buying another one at half the price, works like a dream. Don't waste your money unless you know what you're doing.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again Value for money does not seem to be that attractive anymore compared to some of the cheaper offerings, but with the boss pedals you know they will stand up against time and abuse. If you are only using this for practice and want to save money you might as well go for one of the cheaper options, but if you want reliability and using your pedals for professional gigs, Boss is the way to go.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Great little item though. Highly recommend.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again Only a few minor issues, firstly it can be fiddly to use when stopping and deleting the loop (double tap and hold) however I am told this can be sorted using an additional pedal. Secondly the quality of the loop isn’t the best, a problem I am told is common with most loopers. Overall I am very happy with my purchase.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. In 2001 Boss release the RC-20 and have really led the way when it comes to looper and Loop Stations ever since. It was a response to the need for people that just needed a pedal that looped simply and easily. The RC1 allows you to record, play it back and also play overdubs in three easy steps. Check out the Since the RC-20 Loop Station was first released in 2001, BOSS has led the way by continually releasing new looping products. Well you can play a section of music and the Loop Station will play it back to you. Then you can layer numerous 'loops' on top of one another. So you can be your own band. One really great way to use a Loop Station RC1 is to solo over your own playing. So you lay down a chord progression and then you play a solo over the top of it. (Demonstration) Another way to use a Loop Station is to become your own band. You can lay down rhythms, chords and tunes then sing over the top of it for example. You can create full band experience just yourself. The Boss RC1 is the simplest model of Loop Station. You can be up and running with this in five minutes and I think it's perfect for practicing your solo playing. If you'd like to expand on your loop playing then Boss have a whole range of Loop Stations that allow you to play rhythms, use more memory and have some fantastic extra sounds. So come and check out either the RC1 to get you on your way, or any of the other great Boss pedals we have here at Mega Music. Or you can have a look at our range here online and purchase here as well. Additionally, they allow you to connect stereo instruments, such as synthesizers. The RC-1 is an especially great partner to start enjoying looping!
