Install the SY-300's USB driver. You can get it here: 2. Plug a USB cable into the SY-300, with the end going to your one of your computer's on-board USB ports, preferably plugged into a USB 2.0 port, or a USB 3.0 port that is backwards compatible with USB 2.0 devices. (Check your computer's technical documentation if you're not sure) 3. Install the BOSS Tone Studio application. (which will also install the required Adobe AIR Application Runtime environment resources for your OS) 4. With your SY-300 plugged in and turned on, launch the BOSS Tone Studio application. Recommended footswitches include the BOSS FS-6 or FS-7 models. Hex pickups produce a separate output for each string, so each string can be processed independently. You can, for instance, transform your guitar, through Roland’s COSM modelling, into different types of guitar. The COSM models track with extremely low latency and very high accuracy because they’re based on your actual guitar sound, rather than on MIDI. The models include various acoustic guitars, Strats, Teles, humbucking pickups, hollow bodies, dobros, a banjo, and even an electric sitar. However, there’s no direct MIDI output. The footswitches, used to select from different patches, include assignable switches for effects and features.https://www.informaquiz.it/petrgenis1604790/status/flotaganis29032022-0811Tone Studio gives you access to Boss’s Tone Central online repository of patches, which offers a range of patches in different styles. These can be used as they are, or simply as useful starting points for your own ideas. You can record each string separately if you choose, with or without any signal processing or modelling. In theory, this opens up an entirely new universe of tonal possibilities for adventurous players. It’s very impressive. The acoustic guitars are also stellar, with bright, ringing tones that are easily adjustable for both body characteristics and overall tone. The electric guitars, while less dramatically improved to my ears than the acoustics, nonetheless sounded clearer and more dynamic than on earlier units. I would have liked to shorten the attack on the Slow Pad, for example, but couldn’t adjust this parameter.Even with meticulous tweaking, I had to play deliberately and with great precision to keep from getting either mistracked or missing notes. Despite the good sound, therefore, I’m only likely to use the Osc Synth occasionally. Happily, along with the improved COSM sounds, I found the amp simulations to be better than what went before too.Pros Outstanding COSM acoustic and electric guitar sounds. Good amps and effects. You also need ALL of your effects pedals because who doesn’t want seven types of overdrive at your feet. Every gig, you end up compromising on your dream stage setup and take just one of each. But imagine the show you could put on if you had every weapon in your arsenal. Or any instrument, amp or effect you could ever want. That’s why BOSS designed the GP-10 Guitar Processor. The GP-10 is a guitar tech, roadie, guitar studio and effects rack all in one box. Combining the Roland GK pickup with the GP-10, you can have your dream rig with the easiest of setups. But this bright yellow hybrid guitar effects processor has both a GK 13-pin insert and regular. So how can you take your ideal setup with you on stage. No need for multiple guitars in different tunings. The GP-10 is like your own personal guitar tech, changing your tunings on the fly. Imagine spending days learning a tricky solo note for note, only to find out your singer needs the whole song in different key, minutes before the gig. The GP-10 can act as an auto capo, with two octaves of note shift up or down, per string. This means no matter how frustrating the rest of the band can be, you can maintain your composure as the coolest dude they know with your mad transposing skills. WATCH AND LEARN MORE ABOUT GP-10 TUNINGS: THE ROADIE (OR AS THEY MAY PREFER, PROFESSIONAL STAGE SUPPORT PERSONNEL) Regardless of what type of body you regularly play with at home, if you’re red blooded, you’ve thought about getting your hands all over a different one at least once, right. It’s a musician’s prerogative to want to try them all. Trying to get that concept past your significant other successfully is actually only possible when they are quite literally a guitar, and rightly so. Transform your blonde thinline custom into a fat bottomed dreadnaught (or vice versa) anytime and consider it the only one-night stand you can get away with. Or here’s another problem, the GK3 pickup is on the Strat, but the roadie (it’s someone to blame) packed the Les Paul. No problem! Run any regular guitar lead into the GP-10 to take advantage of many of the awesome features. Ok, you won’t be able to show off your different virtual guitar rack, but you’ll still rock the party with the latest COSM amp models and BOSS effects in the GP-10. Face it, you are about to look really stupid playing your doom-metal rig at a banquet for poodle lovers. BOSS TONE CENTRAL lets you create and save banks of different patches on your Mac or PC, load them into the GP-10 and maintain a slick running order of gig patches on your multi, regardless of music style required. Getting an extra player just to fill in these spots might not be a move you’re ready to make. The BOSS GP-10 has three synth engines just like an analog synthesizer. There is nothing like a head-turning moment at a gig when the crowd asks, “How did they do that?” The GP-10 can give you that moment. WATCH AND LEARN MORE ABOUT GP-10 GUITAR SYNTHS: EFFECTS RACK Research has shown that 99.9 of beginners who start out on multi effects have more options for tone creation than people who start out using only individual compact pedals in a board. Believe the science. But let’s be honest, when was the last time YOU ran an open D tuned sitar guitar into a flanger into a delay. If you never have then you are missing out. Experimenting with effects you’ve never tried before always inspires creativity, whether it’s writing your next award-winning riff, laying down tracks in the studio or adding harmonizer mid-solo. There’s no need to lug around a massive pedal board when you can have it all in the GP-10. There’s no need to compromise on that dream setup anymore. RELATED ARTICLE BOSS GP-10 Guitar Processor RELATED PRODUCT At the time, Kakehashi was a young inventor with a passion for electronics, experimentation. It features 13-pin input that accustom the Roland GK-3 or GK compatible pickups for your favorite tuning. Featuring COSM amps and effects, this pedal lets you play various range of acoustic, bass and electric guitars. The expression pedal onboard lets you control pitch bends, volume swells, and wah effects. It's USB connectivity provides guitars to MIDI conversion and audio recording. This is a powerhouse of a Guitar processor. Lots of bang for your buck with this unit. It is a small unit so to do all the stuff it will do you need to download the Boss Tone Software to be able to edit it and take full advantage of the unit. It would take a great deal more time to edit a patch without the software. The pickup adds an level to playing guitar but it also adds a whole new level of way to screw up. If you are a guy that likes one big knob to turn and everything on ten. This is not for you. It is easy to forget about the pickup and when everything sounds weird later find out you pushed something wrong on the pickup. There are a lot of ways to screw up. Just because it makes 1000 sounds does not mean they are usable. You will stay busy tweaking instead of playing guitar. It does gtr modeling like a variax. The variax has the advantage of being on the guitar so you can switch models and variants and tone on the fly. However the gp10 adds a few bass models and a few simple synths. Even without the GK pickup any gtr will access the fairly robust effects. You can use boss tone factory to change patches and routing of efx with some flexibility using the control pedals. I love that you can set the pedal to default to volume. With a GK pickup you can blend or separate your gtr with the modeling (synth plus gtr, or a sitar with your electric). HERE IS THE SECRET: it also acts as an audio interface for your gtr and the modeling. ALSO, it can drive soft synths on your Daw. So with one USB and gtr with a GK pickup you get effects i ncluding wah and volume, gtr modeling AND using it as a midi controller.
