Of course there is a knob to adjust how much of the effect you want, but that is the main idea of the pedal. No matter what style you play this pedal will come in handy and make you sound more professional, but the majority of people buy this for slap bass. Why? Because when you play slap style it sounds extremely loud through an amp without a limiter(which is the kind of amp that most people have). So the limiting effect take all of the painfully loud sounds and makes them sound just as loud as all the other sounds so the overall volume is more focused. On to the enhancer knob. It basically brightens up your tone. REVIEW Overall this is a great pedal. It has the same shell as all other boss pedals which lasts forever and will not break. And my playing and tone sound amazingly better when using this pedal, but there is one thing I don't like about it. Because it is a limiter pedal and it makes you quiet noises a little louder to match with everything else your playing, this means that when you brighten up your tone you will get a painful, high-pitch noise when you slide your fingers up or down the strings.
