For those who are playing the game for the first time, you will need to purchase the game, which is available from the Square Enix Store and Square Enix Boutique.Make sure all other applications are closed before beginning this process. You can download them from Square Enix at the following link: A fresh installation didn't have very many files to download. In addition, it doesn't acknowledge manually patched files. I am doing some testing to determine a way to work around this.Keep in the mind the It will take a few minutes to finish. You will need to do it on both PlayOnline and FFXI.Downloading a copy of a game you do not own is illegal. Any game downloads are intended for backup purposes. We have the bought and paid for the game, and will never recommend that you use anything different. If you somehow managed to get it to work using the buddypass or an illegal version of FFXI then keep it to yourself. Discussion of obtaining software through illegal means is not tolerated.Time for the next step. They are errors after all and need to be fixed. This takes around 5-10hrs. Once it starts downloading you can leave it unattentended if you wish to do so (best to do this overnight as PlayOnline servers are sloooooooooooooooooow) All that's left is to set up your launcher.http://www.flavorsofindiaflorida.com/userfiles/eurostar-aircraft-manual.xml

FINAL FANTASY, TETRA MASTER and VANA'DIEL are registered trademarks of Square Enix Co., Ltd. Updating FFXI Client Files Assuming you’ve already downloaded and installed the FFXI client from SquareEnix, you’re ready to connect and begin updating your files. You won’t be able to launch the game without a reboot. Open PlayOnline and let it update (and restart it if it asks). PlayOnline will prompt you if your a New User or Existing User. Choose For PlayOnline Members. Set ABCD1234 a the username, password, and account ID for your new account. This just allows you far enough in to access the file check. A valid PlayOnline or SquareEnix ID is not required. On the left side of the screen, click Check Files. On the Check Files Screen screen where it says “PlayOnline Viewer”, select the down arrow to select “FINAL FANTASY XI”. NOTE: If “Final Fantasy XI” doesn’t show up, you can download a patch from the DSP team to resolve the issue. Click here for the full details of this method. Close the PlayOnline Viewer. Download the DSP patch. Unzip the patch into your \PlayOnline\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI folder. Open the PlayOnline Viewer. Click Check Files. In the drop down list, “FINAL FANTASY XI” should now show up with “Unknown” as the version. Proceed with the rest of the steps. Click the Check Files button with “FINAL FANTASY XI” highlighted to begin the check. This process is validating your current files and should take 20-25 minutes depending on your computer’s hard drive speed. Once complete, it’ll prompt you to begin the update to fix errors (errors meaning files that don’t match current retail). Choose to “Fix the errors”. PlayOnline will start checking and updating files. This can take 2-4 hours depending on your computer speed and internet connection. Once everything is updated, exit PlayOnline. The last step is copying the PlayOnline Viewer’s data folder into the FFXI folder. Navigate to \PlayOnline\SquareEnix\PlayOnlineViewer (or to where you installed FFXI) and copy the \data folder. Navigate to the \PlayOnline\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI folder and paste that folder in that folder. You should now have a \data folder in your \FINAL FANTASY XI folder. If you skipped it earlier, be sure to reboot your computer to ensure the registry settings are saved. You’re done and ready to configure your windower client with either Windower or Ashita. If you’re coming from the Nasomi player community or have ever used their installer, there’s a process to patch your installation to work with “retail” Final Fantasy XI. Here’s a quick guide to ensure a smooth update. Players without active retail accounts sometimes run into an issue where Check Files does not find a new version available. We suggest using the DSP Patch method to force your client to search for a new version. This file simply overrides some of the cache and history of your client and forces it to seek out a new version. None of your character information, macros, or other data is modified by applying the DSP Patch. Unless you’re using Ashita’s DATS, XIPivot, or another tool to manage your third-party HD dats, a client update will override these files. Be sure to have a backup before starting. It’s highly recommended to use XIPivot for dat modifications. Option 1 - Easiest Close Final Fantasy XI and PlayOnline Viewer. Navigate to your \PlayOnline\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI directory. Find VTABLE.DAT and DELETE IT. Open PlayOnline Viewer. Click Check Files on the left side. Click the dropdown and select FINAL FANTASY XI. It should say either Unknown OR the prior version of your client. The File Check should return that there were problems with files. In this case, it may only list the VTABLE.DAT to fix. That’s okay. Click File Repair to begin the update. In these example images, it initially through there was 4672 files to repair, but only ended up needing to update 91. This process can take a few minutes depending on your computer and internet speed. It should now list the current version. Be sure to verify this is the current version in the Update Notes or the home page on the wiki. You can now open Ashita or Windower and play the game with the latest version. Option 2 - Force It. Close Final Fantasy XI and PlayOnline Viewer. Download the DSP patch from Nocturnal Souls’ Discord. Unzip the patch into your \PlayOnline\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI folder and override the files when prompted. Open PlayOnline Viewer. It should say Unknown for the version. If not, go back and make sure you’ve done steps 2 and 3.The File Check should return that there were problems with several files. Click File Repair to begin the update. In these example images, it initially through there was 4672 files to repair, but only ended up needing to update 91. The thing is Xiloader is being successful in connection but a Windower setup dialogue appearing when Xi Loader is sending ID.I will wipe fresh and attempt this new install. I am guessing that there was an issue with Windower and now Ashita is being used. I did also notice one install guide from Knowone says to delete the 0.DAT from ROM\0 and the summary above states the install removes 1.DAT - I don't know if that is something you guys were aware of. Thanks The install will delete 0.dat for you, should be 1 click really til you get to POL update. The 1.dat was a typo, but it wouldn't make any difference, its just removing a file to force update. Ashita was added because I don't use Windower, so couldn't help people if they had issues. Enko Okay on the.DAT file explanation, makes sense. With your previous installer I did the uninstall POL to attempt the fix, yet had same problem. I am aware this would be a hassle for you and I apologize, could I request a baby step walk through for precision and a 0 chance of my human error. I'm fairly confident I followed all directions the last 2 times I installed, even when reinstalling POL, following the manual guide to copy data folder to FF11 and Delete.DAT file for update. So I must be being an idiot in another way. Apologies for any facepalms after reading below. I have just uninstalled POL as instructed.Another thing that makes me think this is that the October 19th Install estimated time is 1 Hour 15 minutes and it takes me 4 hours to do a repair. Is this where I am going wrong. If so, kill me. My sanity is being impacted here, I've installed other programs with tricky installs much more complicated than this - feel like I'm going insane haha. To save spamming this thread I am open to emails at your request. Or Private Messages on here. Thanks and sorry, ugh. Ok, first uninstall Playonline viewer in control panel Then run the installer (install.cmd) as administrator Then theres a stage where Playonline Viewer starts and offers to update, do that When it says version update complete, click ok then it will say preparing to restart the player, click next then thisAny problems hit me up in Discord (Enko) Works got a bit busier so there maybe a delay. I didn't expect to get a reply as I knew I was being cheeky. On first glance the steps are that which I have already tried by myself BUT I will do it again to be certain. Regardless of if it works, thank you so much for the time you have spent helping me, restored my faith in humanity slightly. Kind regards. Most installation problems occur as a result of a missed step. It’s more extensive and catalogues literally every click of the entire process.Select “Existing User” and fill in the Member Name with whatever you want, and the PlayOnline ID and password with “1234567” (or, alternatively, whatever you like), and save the settings. If you get a separate popup window that says it’s launching the FFXI installer or asks for install discs you can just close it. It includes NPC names. Use ToolsEU if playing with an EU client. Note: This will not enable trigger functionality. Just the basic layout. Please make sure that Direct Play is enabled if you run into this issue. Follow these steps! Then there is a folder with a checkbox that says Legacy Components. Prevent this by automatically passing your username and password through to the server. And all of:Darkstar is already using it for their version of the loader. Keep all of the parts of the FFXI setup files together in their own folder, separate from any other files. Begin preparation by installing the Microsoft packages. Depending on the operating system you're running, your system may already have them pre-packaged. This is fine, just move on to the next. All Microsoft packages must be installed in (x86) even if you have a 64 bit system and even if you have the 64 bit version of that package already. This isn't the same as running from an admin account. If you are confused, Google it. Additionally, if the desktop dims from a UAC (User Account Control) prompt, FFXI will crash. You may want to just disable UAC ( or adjust UAC settings so that it doesn't cause the desktop to dim for a UAC prompt ) instead and solve both problems at once. Its up to you.Click on OK. Follow the prompts for installing PlayOnline Viewer, Final Fantasy XI, and all of the expansion packs. Using the default file locations presented is recommended. As this should be your first time running this program, you'll be prompted to update. Install the update, once it's finalized it will reboot. At this point, you should be asked whether you're a new or pre-existing member. Choose Current Member. If you have a retail account, you can use your official credentials. If you don't, enter the following:Now you'll want to close PlayOnline and locate the file UpdatePatch.Zip or download from the Files section located here if you haven't already. Right-click the file and choose to extract. It's recommended you extract these files into an isolated folder so that they don't get confused with any other files. Once these files are extracted, copy them into your Final Fantasy XI directory. You'll be prompted to overwrite these files, accept this! You'll find yourself once again on the main page of PlayOnline, on the lefthand side there should be a menu. Choose Check Files. You'll be greeted with another page with a drop-down menu. Select this and choose Final Fantasy XI. Once you've done that, go ahead and proceed with the update. This will take several moments, and following the scan, you'll be brought to a page telling you how many files need repaired. Accept the prompt to fix these files. This will begin a repair that will take several hours. At this point, you do not need to pay close attention to your update. You can step away from your computer while it's updating and check back when it's complete. Once it's complete, close PlayOnline. If you have downloaded Ashita from any other site than directly from the developer please delete it and download it directly from the developer. After moving the file to the location of your choice, right click the program and choose Run as an Administrator. On the initial launch, it will install all files necessary for Ashita to run properly. The exception here is the Microsoft packages and.NET Framework, if you ignored the Installation Preparation step, you will NEED to install these files to use Ashita. If you haven't already, please reference the Installation Preparation step for instructions on how to properly install these files.Select Private Server and then click the pencil icon located at the bottom of the Ashita menu. Another menu will pop up.Rename this to HomepointXI FFXI.These lines needs to be edited in order to access the server. Since HomepointXI server is a DSP Private Server, the File: line needs to be changed to:If you wish to have the program log your account into the server automatically upon booting, edit your Boot Command line through the same process as previously instructed, to this instead:Congratulations, you're done with the installation. This account is what is used to login to the gameserver and then load you into FFXI, where you would then create a character. Also be aware that since most of us at HomepointXI use Ashita, we're unlikely to be able to help you on Windower issues. Contact Windower themselves if you need assistance. You can get the latest version here.Additionally, you can also open Windower and create a second profile. This account is what is used to login to the gameserver and then load you into FFXI, where you would then create a character.Afterwards, if you continue to run into complications, please utilize the following options for help. Please connect to your Discord channel using this link.If you don't get a response right away by saying something in the main channel, please be patient. You can find this here for game-related issues, or here for website or wiki related issues. FINAL FANTASY, TETRA MASTER and VANA'DIEL are registered trademarks of Square Enix Co., Ltd. SQUARE ENIX, PLAYONLINE and the PlayOnline logo are trademarks of Square Enix Co., Ltd. Designed and produced by Hiromichi Tanaka, it was released in Japan on May 16, 2002, for PlayStation 2 and Microsoft Windows -based personal computers in November of that year.Players can undertake an array of quests and progress through the in-game hierarchy and through the major plot of the game. Each expansion pack and add-on brings a new major storyline to the Final Fantasy XI world, along with numerous areas, quests, events and item rewards.Unlike the predefined main characters of previous Final Fantasy titles, players are able to customize their characters in limited ways, including selecting from one of five races and choosing their gender, facial style, hair color, body size, job, and nation allegiance. The servers are named after summoned monsters from previous Final Fantasy titles, such as Ifrit and Diabolos. The head-up display in Final Fantasy XI consists of a log window, menus, and several game information elements. The log window at the bottom of the screen displays system messages, battle messages, and text input by other players.Gil can then be exchanged amongst players for goods through the Auction House, or be used to purchase items and rewards from NPCs. Unlike some MMORPGs, there is very little focus on player versus player (PvP) combat, instead the game revolves around player versus environment (PvE). There are numerous PvE activities and events for players to partake in, including instanced activities and shared spaces activities. Popular shared spaces activities include hunting Notorious Monsters, fiends that rarely appear and drop precious loot. They last only for a set period of time and offer a variety of fun or useful rewards. Many events have changed over time, adding new features and eliminating old ones. These events are geared towards any level, often restricting players to level 1, so that veterans and novice players alike can join in together. Events celebrated are often thematically based on real life equivalents, for example: Valentione's Day in place of Valentine's Day, the Egg Hunt Egg-stravaganza in place of Easter, and the Starlight Celebration in place of Christmas. The surprise of the random encounter system is achieved via aggressive monsters, who will attack players based on different factors such as sight and sound. This format would continue in future Final Fantasy games. A monster is claimed the moment a player performs any offensive action upon it, whether physical, magical or ability related. With some exceptions, once a monster is claimed it can only be attacked by players in the party or alliance of the player that claimed it. A monster will focus its attention on whoever has built up the most enmity.A regular party has room for six members. Like in many other games, a well-balanced party will consist of several archetypes- namely a healer, a tank (the party member with high defense that will be the main target of the monster), and the damage dealer. The enmity system comes into play heavily in parties, as players try to keep the monsters attention off fragile jobs and on the tanks. A well-balanced team working together is the only way to defeat many of the game's enemies.Alliances are necessary to complete more difficult challenges: including missions, quests, nation or territory driven events, and defeating notorious monsters. Much of end-game play consists of alliance forces overcoming these higher level challenges and can even allow several alliances to enter into specific instances owned by a group of players (e.g. Dynamis instances entry is controlled by an hourglass item). Physical damage given and received fills a Tactical Points (TP) bar, to a maximum of 3000. Any amount above 1000 is able to be used up by being channelled into a weapon skill. These skills vary in effect depending on job class, what weapon is equipped, how full the TP bar is, and how proficient the player is with the weapon. A skillchain creates additional damage after a series of weapon skills are used. In order to create the best possible skillchains and magic bursts, players must work together, focusing on each other's actions and timing.Players are able to change their jobs any time from inside their house or by speaking with a Nomad Moogle. In June 2010, the long-standing level limit of 75 was incrementally increased to the higher level cap of 99, finishing in the December 2011 version update. Job traits are passive abilities that are always in effect, while job abilities must be activated by the player in order to come into effect. Magic spells are available to certain jobs, and in addition to a cooldown period, they often consume MP or some form of item in order to be cast, while at the same time requiring the user to stand still. Additionally, each job has a special one-hour ability that performs an extraordinary function. For instance, a Level 20 Warrior setting Ninja as their support job would allow them to use all Ninja abilities, traits, and spells up to that of a level 10 Ninja, while still primarily being a Level 20 Warrior. The support job system allows for job-merges never before seen in the Final Fantasy series. However, there are some exceptions to the system. One-hour abilities and other abilities deemed signature to a particular job (such as Call Wyvern for Dragoons) are restricted to being used only on the main job.Another is clamming, where players collect as many fish or sea creatures as possible without going over their bucket's size limit. There are many ways to obtain items, such as harvesting, excavating, logging, mining, defeating monsters, and digging by using Chocobos.
